I swear I heard a radio motor check that said, "There's a very, very long tail back of traffic on the ....motorway. Everything is moving slowly because of a rolling robot following on behind."
Okay, what was this rolling robot following?
I have never heard of such a thing.
I waited and the main programme continued.
This is not April Fools Day, but could I get the announcement again, no I could not.

Realisation dawns Mr F! Many thanks. You can tell how often I use motorways these days. At least, those that have rolling robots holding up everything in sight.

LOL!!..I couldn't have imagined what a rolling robot was either....robots move jerkily, they don't roll

Depends how niftily robots come into contact with terra firma I expect as to how well they keep their balance. Sounds like this robot had an exceptional rear view.

Pro Maybe the robot had been at the Famous Grouse and started rolling down the motorway. I'd like to think so, anyway!

I prefer to think the robot had more refined oiling than with the Famous Grouse; Glenmorangie, Dalwhinnie or even Old Pulteney. It probably got behind because it was too well lubricated!

Pro Ah - Glenmorangie..... yes, I'm with you there! Clearly no ordinary robot then, but one with a superior palate!

The jury's out on the robot's tastes; I am quite intrigued by the behaviours these things indulge in.
I wonder what the announcer actually said? Guess we will never know.

According to the reply I got from Mr F (see first comment), what I heard was probably correct.
Hubby gave me another definition of a rolling robot, which could also be correct, but it is likely to be used in other circumstances, (I hope) otherwise there'd be traffic parking on all the auto routes instead of moving to where it should be going.
