Why oh why, when I have almost achieved completion of a large task on my roll over 'to do' list, I cannot find the last little notch to finish it off.
I can clearly see what is missing; can I lay my hands on what is missing, no! If I could just experience a useful brainwave, it could resolve everything. The job could be at an end and I would, with a flourish of my pen, cross it off the list.

I don't think so WCG - it's a tidying up of a family things for items that need to go abroad, with, in some instances, a wee bit of information to go alongside them.
The other issue here is that I have found suitable packaging, size and all that (the measurments are unusual), with plenty of space for the rest to be inserted if I could find the darn stuff.
It would be great to get this item cleared from my list and my thoughts.

Yep it's great crossing things off lists, especially roll-over ones. This one weighs a little bit heavy so getting it done would be a really good thing.

Making lists? Love it! Mine at the moment is A4 turned sideways, sectioned off into columns 'Web site' 'Photography' 'Scrapbooking' 'Personal'(under personal comes jobs in the house as well. I am flying to the UK tomorrow and have my list for that with headings like 'to take''to buy in UK' 'to do in UK' and 'to bring back'....sometimes think I must be sad! Isn't it surprising that when written down, just how much you can get through? Must go now, check my list and make one for going shopping!

I'm currently making a list for things to do when I am away but more importantly a list for things I mustn't forget to take away with me.
You must be either a spreadsheet fan or you do it naturally. I love the description of your lay-out ideas. At the moment I put my lists in tables, via the computer programme, and make columns that way. If items are not general, a heading is inserted in bold and underlined. My stuff is so varied that my main headings would be, 'Not to forget' 'medical' 'Contact', 'visits' 'travel details' etc.
My domestic list sometimes gets attention when I need to motivate myself otherwise, my main list is my roll-over to do list which covers major, more difficult, longer term items. It's rather like a skeletal project plan. I get real satisfaction when one of those requirements is completed and crossed through - it's almost worth a celebration!
